A definition: The Plague
If I refer to the “Plague” I mean the rot that exists at the centre of humanity. I believe that there is a core problem, which all other problems stem from, a rotten core. I think that any policy/movement etc will be futile until this core problem is solved.
How is it solved?
I don’t think anybody knows. Various religions/people/products/lifestyles would claim they do, and one or some of them are correct, who knows.
I personally belive the plague can only be cured through divine intervention, but I dont really have any great basis to support that. That’s not to say there’s nothing the individual do to combat the plague, but, i’ll leave that for another day…
“I really believe that if there’s any kind of God, he wouldn’t be in any one of us — not you, not me, but just this space in between. If there’s some magic in this world, it must be in the attempt of understanding someone else, sharing something. Even if it’s almost impossible to succeed, but who cares, the answer must be in the attempt.” - R. Linklater
I agree with the whole “plague” idea yes, very true. But cured through divine intervention, no. I see us like a smoker: we cannot stop smoking this posion and it is destroying us day by day solwly, subtly. If we we`re helped by divine intervention in this analogy it would be like taking the cigarettes away, we would still need/want them and get them back one way or another. The only way we can give up is to want to give up, to want to be “better”. Otherwise your not striking the core problem.
